About Affirming Minds Institute

A nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to neurodiversity-affirming workforce opportunities and mental health services throughout Will County, Illinois.

Why AMI Exists

Affirming Minds Institute exists to strengthen access to mental health and community-based services by developing, supporting, and retaining a neurodiversity-affirming workforce. Through training, supported employment, and partnership-driven programs, AMI works to reduce workforce shortages, improve continuity of care, and expand equitable access to services for Will County residents.

We believe that when the workforce is affirming, the communities it serves become healthier, more connected, and more equitable.

A Future Built on Inclusion

We envision a future where neurodivergent individuals and emerging professionals have equitable access to meaningful employment opportunities, supportive workplaces, and sustainable career pathways that strengthen the health and wellbeing of local communities.
